July 26, 2014, 9:30 AM (Rain date: July 27): Motorcycle Ride to help Blevins family with medical expenses. If you ride, come on out! $20 per rider, $5 per passenger, lunch afterward. Facts & Figures about the Ft. O Police Department

The Ft. Oglethorpe Police Department consists of three divisions:

  • Administrative
  • Uniform Patrol
  • Criminal Investigation

The Administrative Division is made up of:

  • The Chief of Police
  • The Administrative Captain
  • Two full-time and one part-time administrative personnel

The Uniform Patrol Division is made up of 24 Officers divided into four separate 12-hour shifts. That's one Watch Commander (a Lieutenant) and five uniform officers per shift.

The Criminal Investigation Division is made up of five detectives. That's one Investigatvie Commander (a Lieutenant) and four Detective Sergeants.

Below, Ft. Oglethorpe police officers lead an escort of the Transformers fire truck (behind the red Ft. O fire truck) into the August 2011 Cruise-In on Hwy. 27.

FOPD uses Ford Crown Vic (Police Interceptor) cars as its primary patrol vehicles.

The Investigative Division uses assorted unmarked makes and models of cars.
